PWD Southwest Water Pollution Control Plant Tour (1 PDH)
Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 1 PM; Concludes by 3 PM
Location: Southwest Water Pollution Control Plant (8200 Enterprise Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153)
Cost: Free
The ASCE Philadelphia YMF invites you to explore the evolution of urban wastewater engineering with a guided tour of PWD’s Southwest Water Pollution Control Plant (SWPCP). Engineers will also gain perspective on the plant operations and considerations for the design and construction of large-scale projects.
This tour is not ADA accessible. Accessible by public transit via 68 Bus to Fort Mifflin Rd & Enterprise Ave. Closed-toe shoes and long pants required. Vests and hard hats are optional. We anticipate 1 PDH will be awarded for attendance. Lunch will be provided to attendees.

ASCE YMF Mock Interview Event – Call for Volunteers & Student Participants!
Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 5:30 PM to 7 PM
Location: McCormick Taylor (1818 Market St 16th floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103)
Cost: Free
We're excited to announce our in-person Mock Interview Event, and we need YOU to make it a success! Whether you're a student looking to sharpen your interview skills or a professional eager to share your expertise, this is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. There will be two (2) rounds of interviews, each followed by time for feedback. Let's build confidence, one interview at a time!
Interviewers: Share your expertise and help guide the next generation of professionals while expanding your network. Volunteers may be hiring managers or other professionals who have experience conducting interviews or screening candidates. (CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER).
Student Participants: Practice real interview scenarios and get valuable feedback. Mock Interviews benefit civil engineering students, graduate students and recent grads looking for a resume critique, seeking improvement on interviewing skills, or with a desire to practice interviewing before they partake in the real thing. Student participants should bring at least one copy of their most recent resume. (CLICK HERE TO VOLUNTEER).

Animal Care & Control Team Philly (ACCT) Service Event
Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11 AM to 2 PM
Location: Animal Care & Control Team of Philly (111 W Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140)
Cost: Free
Join ASCE YMF to help the Animal Care and Control Team (ACCT) Philly, the region’s largest animal care provider, which handles over 18,000 animals annually, including dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and wildlife.
Volunteer activities include cleaning the shelter, organizing donations, yard cleanup, and creating enrichment items for the animals. We will also enjoy a facility tour and some time with the animals!
ACCT Philly is ADA accessible. ACCT Philly has a private parking lot. Accessible via the 53 and 57 bus routes. Volunteers are asked to wear close-toed shoes and clothing they do not mind getting a little dirty.

ASCE/ASHE Joint Winter Mixer
Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 6 PM to 9 PM
Location: Puddlers Kitchen & Tap by Conshohocken Brewing Company (3 DeKalb St, Bridgeport, PA 19405)
Cost: $15
Join ASCE and ASHE for our annual festive evening of networking and socializing with fellow civil engineers! This is a great opportunity to connect with professionals from both societies, learn about each other's work, and have some fun. Each attendee is automatically entered into our holiday raffle upon entering.
Food will be provided (buffet style). A cash bar will be available. Students and professionals ages 21 and older are welcome to attend.
Feeling festive? Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Philabundance Food Bank! Additional raffle tickets provided for each food item donated. We hope to see you there!
Venue is ADA accessible and can be accessed via public transportation.
